The Weatherization program at Salt Lake CAP creates jobs and trains Utah Workers in the rapidly emerging green-energy sector. These jobs are setting up the state for success. The people working for CAP today doing weatherization will train Utah workers for tomorrow. They bring a depth of experience to the field. Utah’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act dollars are providing on the job training for tomorrows green tech workers.

The weatherization program in Salt Lake City has been able to hire 50 additional people thanks to ARRA funding. Previously the program had 20 employees. The additional jobs have made CAP better able to respond to and serve the needs of Utah’s seniors and families in need.

The combined savings of energy and non-energy benefits of weatherization in 2008 show returns of $2.72 for every dollar invested.
